U19 Men World Floorball Championship hosts are Turku and Raisio.


 

City of Turku

Turku, a city of about 180 000 inhabitants, is the fourth biggest city in Finland and former capital city of Finland. Turku is a fascinating combination of old and new. Turku has everything for the modern urbanite, but also for tourists interested in the treasures of history. Turku offers skilled and educated workforce, modern municipal engineering, good international connections and flexible services for companies and businesses.

Turku is a city of three institutions of higher education and high technology, which holds about 35.000 students. Turku is a nationally remarkable harbour, trade and fair city.

Helsinki, the capital city of Finland, is about 170 kilometres from Turku – about 110 minutes by bus. Turku has international airport, from where one can fly directly to Stockholm, Gdansk and multiple holiday resorts in Southern Europe. Turku airport is located 8 km outside Turku city centre.

From Stockholm one can also take a ferry to Turku harbour. Travelling time is about 10 hours.

City of Raisio

Raisio is a young coastal town in the south-west of Finland. Raisio is situated about 10 km from Turku city centre and has inhabitants of about 24.000. You will find more information about the city: www.raisio.fi

The weather in early May can be variable: on the one hand there can be sleet and temperature is close to zero degrees, and on the other it may be nice, sunny and warm, temperature rising up to +20 degrees. So, be prepared with adequate clothing!
